Salvaging PCB Parts

Thursday, February 21st, 2008

So I’ve been doing this for a while, ever since I discovered desoldering braid. I found this on Makezine, the Instructable isn’t anything special but the idea of reusing plastic bottles as transparent DIY containers is awesome (and cost saving).  It’s funny, because this week I started collecting wide mouth plastic bottles for organizing larger electronic bits and art supples, I’m gonna screw their lids into a piece of wood and have a hanging organizer . I’ll have simple instructions up soon, once I’ve collected more bottles.  I’ll put it up on Instructables, cause I never do and need to start actually

So I don’t suck so bad.

Ok, well it only took me over a semester to figure out how to embed video on my blog. Please spare the snide remarks and sarcasm, I know I suck, but hooray! I finaly can do it! Without any further ado look at this. Its a video about the problems with E-Waste from Good magazine. It’s really quite beautiful and shows the disturbing truth of dealing with electronic waste.

PID Lie Detector

Tuesday, February 19th, 2008

In PID, James had us make this cool lie detector, sadly the site it was from had only a video.

So because I like having diagrams organized and together I added the transistor info as well.

I’ll have an image of my finished lie detector soon. Mine seams to function in an odd way so it’s more of a random noise maker, but i think it sounds cool, so that’s the way it’s gonna be.

COOL!

Nick Evans project blueBook is an molding of the features of ebooks and traditional books, really facinating and has possibilities for re-making.

” I can count every star in the heavens above but have no heart I can’t fall in love…” If you use computers, and or make electronic music, or are a technophile in anyway you might find this interesting. It takes a look at electronics and the image of them in popular music.

Flat out awesome: Message tape
